Unfortunately it is not just the sneezing that you have to worry about as the common cold also is spread by touch.
Sufferers blow their noses on tissues and then come and use your pen to sign the register. You then handle the pen or book and the next time you touch your mouth or rub your nose the germs pass into your nasal passages where they will develop very happily in the warm and moist environment.
The first positive step you can take is to build up your immune system by eating nutrient rich foods such as fresh fruit and vegetables with wholegrains and lean protein. Combine this with a daily walk in the fresh air and better still in sunshine.
The second step you can take to protect yourself is using an anti-viral barrier hand wash, kept behind the reception counter and used regularly during the day. There are a number available in your local chemist or you can opt for an alternative remedy such as grapefruit seed extract or Tea Tree oil. Even washing your hands in soap and hot water frequently will help prevent the virus from passing into your system.
If someone in your family has a cold, show them how much you care by making them a cup of ginger tea with lemon and honey and skip the kiss under the mistletoe.
An orange is packed with Vitamin C and including this ‘superfood’ will help you beat the cold germs.
